First Cosplay Choice?

If you are a anime fan or Marvel fan, you may want to cosplay some role in the animes and the movies. 

But what kind of role should you choose first? What info I need to prepare? 

Firstly, I suggest you to cosplay a easy role which is not too complex. This is strongly recommend to those who make the costumes by themselves.

If you want to buy a cosplay from the online store, you need to read the size details carefully. Normally standard size is cheaper then custom made. If you would like a best fit of the costumes, I suggest you order custom made size. And of course, this would be a little expensive. As long as the cost is in your budget, I think that would be acceptable. 

For the custom made, you would need to provide the following size details: 

Height,Weight,Shoulder Width,Bust,Waist,Hips

You could offer them in inches or centimeters. 

Mostly the Americans would offer in inches. To those who are in Au or Netheland , they would first use centimeters. Whatever, they could read them.

How to choose Disney Cosplay Costumes?

I just saw this thread from cosplay forum.

As long as you can think it out, you could get the supplier to make that kind costumes.

Cosplay Boots Measurement

When we cosplay, we not only buy Cosplay Costumes, but also need the Cosplay Boots or Cosplay Shoes.

Normally the Cosplay Boots are made of PU Leather. Some are made of fabrics.

When you order  Cosplay Boots/Shoes from others, you need to confirm the size with them. Also you may need to measure some details for them.

For the boots, normally it would need to measure the following size details:

Boots Height(to the place where you want):
Calf Circumference:
Foot Length:

From the above pic, you could see the measurement methods. 

If it is just cosplay shoes, you do not need to measure the boots height and calf circumference. Just provide them the foot length.

How to measure Outside Leg?

Sometimes some costumes have pants. If so you need to offer them your Pant Length/Outside Leg.

Most people do not know how to measure Outside Leg.

Here is a simple method of measuring the outside leg for use in buying or tailoring pants or jeans.

Stand up or lie down with your legs completely straight.

Take a tape measure and place the top on your waist at the point where you want to wear the top of the pants. Some people want their pants to ride high up on their waist, while some want hip-huggers that ride low.

Run the tape measure down to your ankle or lower at the point where you want the bottom of the pants leg to end. Some people want their pants leg to reach just above their ankles, while some want it to cover the top of their shoes.

If the tailor is professional, they would normally make the pant length depend on your height.

How to measure your Shoulder Width correctly?

When you are asked to provide your Shoulder Width size, it is mostly to provide the back shoulder width(Back Shoulder Bone to Shoulder Bone).

Ask someone for help. Since standard shoulder width measurements are taken along the upper portion of your back, another person will actually need to take this measurement for you.

• If you cannot find anyone to help you take this measurement, use the “Measure Shoulder Width with a Shirt” method, instead. That method can be performed by yourself and usually produces an accurate result.

Wear a shirt that fits well. While not strictly necessary, a tailored dress shirt is ideal since you can use the seams of the shirt to help guide the tape measure.

• If you do not have a tailored dress shirt, any shirt that fits correctly in the shoulder area will work. You do not need to measure the shirt when using this method, but a good shirt can provide helpful guide points.

Stand with your shoulders relaxed. Your back should be straight, but your shoulders need to hang naturally in a relaxed position.

Locate the shoulder points. These points are actually marked by your acromion bones, which can be found at the upper tips of your shoulders.

These two points should also be the points at which the shoulder meets the arm, or the points at which the shoulder begins curving down into the arm.

If you are wearing a dress shirt that fits your upper body correctly, you can use it as a guide. The shoulder seams on the back of your shirt will usually match up with your actual shoulder points.

If your shirt does not fit perfectly, use your knowledge of how loose or snug the shoulder fit is and adjust your two end points accordingly to make improvements.

Measure the space between your shoulder points. Have your helper position the end of the tape measure flat against your back at the first shoulder point. Your helper should then measure up and over the curve of your shoulders, across your back, then back down to the outside edge of the other shoulder point.

Keep in mind that you should be measuring across the broadest part of your shoulders. This usually lands out roughly 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5 cm) below the neckline.

The tape measure will not be horizontally straight during this measurement. It must bend at a gentle curve along with your shoulders.

6. 

Write it down. This measurement is your shoulder width. Mark it down and save it for your records.

Standard shoulder width can be used for both men's and women's attire, but it is most often used for men's tailor-fit dress shirts and blazers.

Shoulder width essentially measures the width of the yoke of your ideal shirt size.

You will also need this measurement when determining the best possible sleeve length for a shirt or blazer.

What you need to know first when you buy costumes?

To those who love cosplay, they may not very professional in making Cosplay Costumes. So they would first to buy the cosplay costumes for themselves. Where you would think first to buy your Cosplay?
